Second Chance Sunday: Our Friend, Jamey
This Second Chance Sunday, our friend Jamey shares his raw, unfiltered journey from the depths of methamphetamine addiction and dealing to a life entirely restored by God’s grace. For years, Jamey ran the streets of the West Side, losing all hope, sleeping in garages, and eating out of trash cans.
It took a literal fire—a devastating garage blaze that left him with nothing but the clothes on his back and cost him his ear—to finally bring him to a place of total surrender. The very next day, Jamey walked into the Hope Resource Center, gave up the fight, and committed to doing the hard work of recovery.
Today, Jamey celebrates 2 years and 11 months of sobriety. He now works at the Hope Center, giving back to the community that saved him, preparing to marry his faithful partner Amanda, and proudly sharing his "war wounds" as a testament to what God can do when you trust the process. Jamey’s message is a powerful reminder to anyone struggling: get a sponsor, work the steps, lean on your community, and let God handle the rest.
